Shiver

When continuous motion is broken into bursts, the breakage and the motion join to produce a new continuous state. For humans, cold sets a shiver in play. For trees, it is often the wind.

And for the sun, the leaves and boughs of trees, like the cedar above on a snowy evening, are shivers of sun. A human caught in this dance is often be awash with shivers of excitement.
