Spill

Spill: to kill by emptying the binding force of a shape; the notion of spilling blood is superfluous, as it is always blood, real or spiritual, that is spilled. Moreover, whatever is spilled is a liquid, because like liquid it takes on the shape of its surroundings and has none of its own. Splitting wood is the same force. It differs only in that the liquid is in the perfect stroke of the axe. If you’ve found that sweet arc of energy, you know it.

The Full January Moon spilled (and split) across the waves of Okanagan Lake.
