Clay

Clay: stuff that binds; in a plant it manifests itself as a germ; in soil as clay. Both are the product of water turning dust into a liquid form, and can simultaneously be viewed as water energy or soil energy. The romans understood this power as glue, a sense retained today in gluten, the clay that binds bread together.
