Hang: the power of suspension; the energy of reaching downward without arrival. In place of movement, there is extension in time and in space. Only when the power of suspension is cut does the downward energy dominate. Until the balance of energy is severed, time and extension into space expand at the same rate; once the energy is severed, the pent energy of suspension is released and the object falls. It is no longer capable of expanding into space and time but falls through them. To say one has found “the hang of it” is to say that one has found its point of balance and knows how to stand within it without breaking it, and then when to break it, and why.
