Rush

Rush: A sound given form, that weaves as music weaves, either in the swamps, as mats, or simply strewn on a floor. The sound is silence, that when brushed, lifted by the wind or walked through, makes the sound of rushing, yet when untouched is silent. When strewn on a floor, it catches sound and silences it by softening the touch of a boot to stone. Hard sounds cannot pass through rushing, just as quick, thrusting movements will not get one through a bed of rushes. One must weave with them, and unweave them, and pass through as they close again behind.
