Brood: the energy of transferring life energy through mirroring and stillness, so called because of the sound birds make when they enter this field of energy and hold tight to their eggs; the continued proximity to their eggs transfers their life to the embryo form of the shells’ blank surface. A clutch of eggs thus becomes a brood when it hatches. A man who broods over his thoughts transfers his life to them, but is at the same time bound to their stillness. Brood is a form of presence and deep compulsion. The (traditionally) male version is “breed” and is a form of husbandry.
