Quicken: To bring to life, in a range of energies from becoming pregnant to lighting a flame to increasing the speed and energy of an activity. Quickening is a pregnant energy, rich with growth and possibility, that increases the life force of an organism to produce an excess, which soon takes on separate form. It is a female energy, akin to rain and wind, which are the form the energy takes in the nonhuman and non-animal world. Quicken is paired with its twin, the male energy: kindle.
