Grey: a form of light found in the north of the world, where light is almost a complete recreation of the sun as substance, not heat or illumination. It is a third form of mapping, or sight, along with white and black. Southern people know it as the mixture of the two, as it is in the south. In the North, it is a spirit in its own right, and a path through the world: the spirit of the hare, whose name is an old pronunciation of grey.
