Stump: Energy cut off, in which the energy remains as absence. From this cutting, the construction for rising on a staggered inclined plane, a series of cut-off energy points, took its name: a series of steps. In its purest form, these steps are an energy found in the natural world, in ice, stone and wood. The specific gait required for stepping up onto such a step made out of a tree, of matching the call for action given by the tree with a mirroring action of your own flat, cut off energy, your foot, is a stumpf. You gotta stumpf up onto that step, you do. The word remains in this pure form in German. In English, we call it a stump.
