impede

Fast: to adhere, to stick to a force despite distracting energies and to eventually bring one’s matter into it so that they become one; to be fast is to simultaneously hold and be held in a symbiosis between matter and energy. Due to the tendency of English words to cross and even erase this boundary, it is one of the most vital powers in the language; all others follow. To be fast is to be true. It is a form of honour and remains when all else erodes, due to its ability to move its allegiances across boundaries into other forms.
