Cleave: a powerful energy that takes the two complementary forms of cutting apart and binding together through attraction. It is a power that cannot be experienced intellectually. This is bodily knowledge. A person walking through cleft space experiences body and earth in union and tension. It is the primary force of human experience in the world and is unresolvable in narrative, which requires separated energies, such as split, cut, sever, and energies as consequences of those actions, such as cliff or glyph. The joint energy, however, is cleft. If you want to experience the earth, and your body as large as the earth, cleft energy is the one. If you want to remain within a narrative social sphere, it’s a place of danger. That way lies poetry. That way lies presence.
