Lee: the warm side of a hill, out of the wind, which acts as a pool, collecting life and distributing it into the cold surroundings; a landscape feature identifiable only in landscapes defined by Germanic languages, along with grey, and the peculiar linkage between blue, gold, blonde and white: brightness in the gloom. Brightness is lee energy that has moved out of its bonds.
