Witch: the act of following the threads of life through the earth, its waters, its light and its air. In this way, water dowsers are said to witch water. When this knowledge is transferred to a broader social sphere it is said to be divination, the reading of the presence of the divine. There is much to be witched in the image below: the leaves that are the shape of the sun’s ripples over stone, the faces the mind reads in the rock, the placement of the insects on the large red rock, and so much more. In some Western cultures, witching has been given a social space as art.
