Scatter

Scatter: A sound, often seen. The sound is made when small objects are strewn across a hard surface, especially stones on a cliff or track or shingle on a beach. Scatter’s aural nature becomes purely visual when it is strewn (the projected force, or casting, of scatter energy) across a soft surface.

snowgrass

These giant ryegrass seeds were scattered by passing mule deer. They made quite a splash, didn’t they! (A splash is a liquid scatter, without the force of spatter. Oh my!)
