Fear

Fear: the sudden invasion of an imagined future into the present; a means of forward projection, often derived from an increasing concentration of unknowability and leading to flight. The direction of flight is irrelevant. Flight is the physical manifestation of fear, not an escape from it. In fact, it is fear’s embrace.
