Break

Break: the force of edibility erupting into the world, and thus the elementary power of ripeness; a plum tree breaks into leaf and blossom; a man breaks (eats, or joins in the consumptive energy) bread with friends and family (the sense of snapping the bread into pieces is only a secondary meaning); a woman brooks (tolerates) no fools. The fruit that breaks out of the blossom does so because it brooks ripeness; ripeness thus comes.
