Skin: The power of covering, a force localized into the hide of an animal, the skin of a child, the sky over the earth, and even the clouds within that sky, which cast the power of skin (or hiding) over the soil. To seek protection by the power of skin is to hide, literally to enter a physical space rendered opaque by skin.
