Thread: The power of holding the energy of a path (and the will behind it) in time. A thin strand of cotton holds the energy path of a needle and is called a thread. The thread of an argument is  the energy revealed and maintained by the precise arrangement of particular pieces of evidence.  A thread of cotton or of grass is a secondary energy: it is the material form of a thread (which is a marvel in itself.)
